xbox live and winroute

has anyone managed to get xbox live working through winroute yet? i've been trawling through google for resources and how-to's and any information regarding the issue but aside from this post http://www.roweb.co.uk/Forum2/topic.asp?fid=18&tid=4531 from middie of all people (funny things do creep up on you on google) i've seen no proper guides and a few browse the surface articles (plus a few rants) that cover the subject.
Im thinking about this because im planning on picking up either the sony varient or the xbox varient in the distant future and am looking into seeing if i can accomidate it in my existing setup.

X Box Live works fine on winroute, you don't need to change anything. You can host games behind it without mapping ports...presumably due to some cleverness on their part.

Sony Online? Don't you have to pay a fortune for the HDD + broadband adapter, and get the headset seperately? MS have the right idea imo

ah, i've looked into this, eurogamer.net is a big help with that. Apapters £29 or something silly like that, no subscription yet, no headset as standard!! but socom for £40-50 includes headphone and game. Looks like they're spreading their costs out, but it doesnt look like it's as polished as the xbox live version.

But if you want to download any new content, it's the 3-figure HDD add-on =/

Tis nice being able to just download new gubbins off xbox live, new Splinter Cell levels, Mech Assault add-ons etc.
