Old and new forums, and passwords

Post by Kulgan »

Some of you may remember that we changed forum software for a variety of reasons, including that the old software had become a security risk.

The old forums were hacked at least twice, and because it was such shitty software, the passwords were stored in plaintext in the database software. This means the hackers know the passwords you used on the old forum software.

If you have not already done so, we recommend changing all your passwords that you have shared with the old forums (at any point during their lifetime) and any other location.

Just a clarification. Sorry to bother you.
