I'm free that weekend, but it's a hell of a trek now.

Games to play are usually set by attendees - bit of an informal shoutabout, however in the past both CS and BF have been played a great deal. I would not be surprised if this extended to CSS and BF2.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!

I've been mostly playing RTS and FPS games, mainly single player or Skirmishes with the AI, some online play, but not much. AoE 3, Generals:ZH, DotA map for WC3:TFT, Quake 4, Far Cry, F.E.A.R.
Just grabbed the Micro Machines V4 demo last night and fell in love with it so ordered the full game today, only costs £15 at game.co.uk and it was only released yesterday, bargin! Naturally the PSP and PS2 versions cost at least double. This could be a fun game for the LAN.
I'll be up for a bit of CS:S too, if thats what people want to play, not played CS the last non-source version though, so I may be a bit rusty!
Will we have a net connection? I'm still playng EVE, and it'd be nice to be able to check my account once in a while.
P.S. 3-1! England chokes again!

How do you guys work the event out ie looks from the last one there was at least 30 of you there must be hard getting you all playing the same game.
Also is there internet for steam etc ?

To be honest, it all just kind of works out[-S.E-] Axeman wrote: How do you guys work the event out ie looks from the last one there was at least 30 of you there must be hard getting you all playing the same game.

The answer here is an official "maybe". We do normally have something 56k based at least. I believe that last event we discovered someone in the area daft enough to have an open wireless point, which helped out. Either way, it's best if you assume "No" - Doesn't Steam have some LAN mode thing you can switch on, or am I genuinely that far off base these days?[-S.E-] Axeman wrote: Also is there internet for steam etc ?

Of course, my personal feelings on Steam are somewhat, er, vitriolic

In terms of games I'd like to see played... Well... Erm... I've not even played HL2, to be honest. Quite a way out of date at the moment. Anyone still producing Catch The Chicken for Quake?

Midtown Madness is generally good for a giggle... Alien vs Predator has some enjoyable LAN play. Errr... Don't know what else really. MS Hearts, anyone?

Alien v predator we also play Steam needs the net to validate but does not require a permanent connection.
However from the list of games I think there is enough here to keep us amused.
My clan is listing about 10 guys who can come so far I will get them to sign up here and perhaps purchase tickets before hand.
So if I make sure all my guys have-
AvP
FarCry
BF2
F.E.A.R.
Unreal ?
Quake ?
On the racing side what do you guys prefer ?

You can play Steam based games without a net connection but it's a bugger to get right...

If only it didn't stop working with nVidia cards newer than the GeForce 5/FX series cards. 6 and 7 series users like myself are treated to a black screen with a HUD that trails like you're playing doom with noclipping on.PeteTheHair wrote:Alien vs Predator has some enjoyable LAN play.

Rather than fix this nVidia have made it worse, with the 90.xx series dets the game won't even bloody load at all!

Unless of course you mean AvP2, but multiplayer in that sucks with Aliens that even *I* could run faster than. It's really just Marine vs Predator as far as multiplayer goes.

Another Shotgun LAN, truly cause for celebration. And Red Bull. And vodka. And sleeping on a concrete floot. Be nice if it's sunny enough for a barbecue too!
As for racing games, RALLY MASTERS! Clearly. And 8 player Bomberman on DS. OMFG yes.
