its manufactured by legend (who?) but basically its a replica fender Jaguar body shape...the stringing however is different nowhere near the l33tness of a jag
the cool bit is its totally transparent...made of clear perspex with a pine coloured neck (i dont think it is pine but its quite pale not sure what they used) and the fretboard is very dark wood (again...im no carpenter) lovley nuts up top all silvery chrome nuts frets and works strings are shitty and i swear there rusting by now...one snapped, i need a new set...
ive only got a shitty little marshall amp..slightly bigger than a practice amp..its about the same size as my 15" telly
and its tuned to the authentic "placebo" tuning which is basically an open tuning and is the following :
F Bb Eb Ab C C
although there last album saw more of a shift towards an f# for the topnote...some other songs just have bizzare tunings
for instance evil dildo (great name, creepy story behind it)
Ab Ab Ab Ab B C# ...eh?
anyway long story short about that song..a very evil man left a rather malicious message on brian molkos answering machine saying he was going to do rude things to him then kill him ...they used the tape as a sample in the song...very strange stuff...aphex twin took a monologue of the recording and put it in one of his songs also.
..am i captain trivia or what
anyway pip pip if i get a camera ill put some photos up of me wailing out some killer riffs yaobetcha
My leccy guitar is a Les Paul copy made by Vintage, RRP is £189, and the amp was £110, but most music shops are willing to barter a bit. I paid the £300 and managed to wrangle a load of extra gubbins thrown in (strap, lead, picks, spare set of strings, stand, electric tuner etc - probably about £30-40 quids worth).
It's not bad for the money, considering a real Gibson Les Paul starts at about 1.5 grand and anything upto 4 or 5. It sounds like the real thing, and looks like the real thing, not much to complain about other than a few little niggles here and there like the finishing of the trim and fittings isn't perfect, but that can be fixed by tightening a few screws.
