Highly awaited MMORPG taking the piss?

Everyone knows which one i'm talking about... if you don't, then think of the words luke, chewy and deathstar. (NDA blah blah blah)

Anyways, i've just been accepted for beta 3, and im like yay! But when you get to the signup page, it transpires that you cant actually download the beta, you have to purchase it for $5.95 on cd... which I thought was a bit cheeky, but almost acceptable considering the interest involved and filtering out those just interested in pissing around. That was until I got to the shipping page and saw the P&P cost - $31.93!!!! for a cd or two?? Robbing bastards.

Still undecided as to whether or not to continue. Thought process at the minute goes something like this:
:They're takin the piss!
::But its Star Wars!
:Yeah but it could be shite
::But its Star Wars!
etc...

Anyone else in?

lol, that sounds completely homosexual tbh.

dont bother with it, MMORPGs suck anyway, just save the cash for a night out or something..

a) pay a stupid amount of money to play a beta of a crap game and lose weeks of your life playing said game.

b) go out, get lashed, and be in with a chance of emptying that puppy.

Any man who doesn't go for (b) needs to be questioned on his sexuality tbh.

Umm, well when beta test a game, you (normally) don't have to pay. It also gives you a chance to evaluate a game before you have to pay for it. You don't *have* to pay for a full version.

yeah well. it is star wars!

im in aswell.. ive played it infact (you can download it if you purchase the cd for the keys) with the auto-updater its around 2gigs of shit to download - probably why they get you to pay for it first.

when you look at it it is simply extorsionate for the shipping. im sure if i were an american and it was only another $5 ontop of the $6 for the cds it would be fine, but cos we are across the pond UPS can rip us off.

He only has one game, and thats HLDM... anything other than HL2 can't really get him interested.

theres nothing new since HL came out that interests me, everything is just slow and boring really... I do play some other games occasionally believe it or not

I agree with ya about paying for a beta... which is why I haven't bothered signing up. There are plenty of great games out there that are worth playing, you just dont give em long enough to see the good stuff.

TBH, galaxies is looking worse and worse every time I read about it. Not sure I'll even bother playing...I'll wait until it's been out a while methinks.

My gaming tastes have been drifting more and more towards quick-fix gameplay. I've been playing my consoles a lot more, I really like just being able to pick up a game and play it for half an hour. AO or Eve you could just about get to a shop in half an hour ;p

All hail NHL2002 and Panzer Dragoon Orta, yah-boo sucks to mmorpgs

(although I do still find myself sucked in to Morrowind occasionally

well i do give other games a go, but i dont really play much, so when i do, i wanna play a game thats good i.e. HL

I like consoles tho, used to play them loads in the past, but havent had one in a few years, but i look forward to movin in and playing your xbox's hopefully achieving the god status that is inevitable due to my mad skillz
