Heloo Guys,

I am buying a PC next week or so...

Jus the graphics situations all wierd!?

Geforce 4 Ti 4800 £185 Inc VAT + Delivery.

The 4800's from some company called 'XSX' Any one know of them?
The 4600's From 'PINE'. Do any of you guys know these company's?!

Which card should i get? I want one of these two, but which one? I Did have a Geforce 2MX440, and i think it sucked! so surely these Geforce 4's are better than that!?

As long as they're both 128Mb ti4600/4800 cards then there's no real difference, especially none worth that difference in price. Go for the cheaper one.

Aren't 4800's 4200s with 8X AGP bus. Read package carefully, you can't tell the diff on AGP bus speeds with the eye, but you can tell the diff between a 4200 & a 4600...

No 4800's are 4600's with 8x AGP.

Au contraire Slack Bladder...
Ti 4800 is nothing more than an AGP 8X version of the Ti 4600 and the Ti 4800-SE is an AGP 8X version of the Ti 4400.
See, I knew there was something dodgy about 4800s, just couldn't put my finger on it. Just read the box carefully and remember all that extra performance claimed for 8X AGP is marketing tosh...

Seahorse I know there is two types of 4800 I posted it in another thread a few days ago.

The Geforce 4 ti 4800 is just a ti 4600 with 8x AGP, there is also the ti 4800se which is the ti 4400 with 8x AGP.
That is what I posted in this thread. http://www.shotgunlan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=221

No, the specs of his new PC became very dull, very quickly. I just knew there was something dodgy about nVidias European naming convention for ASGP X8.

Unfortunately living with premature Altzheimers is very taxing...

BTW 1: In the USA, they are called 4600 X8s or 4400 X8s. I smell a marketing p*ss take aimed at newbies.

BTW 2: Warblade Beta 11r4 has jsut been released. You know it makes sense...

Yes. You said:
Aren't 4800's 4200s with 8X AGP bus.
Which by your own admission is false.

He said:
No 4800's are 4600's with 8x AGP.
At which point you said:
Au contraire Slack Bladder...
Which was bollocks.
That's what the conversation history says anyway. No "edited" marks anywhere.

K:

I already explained mistake re 42s AND 4800s are 44 or 46s. You convenient overlooked this:
Did you actually read my post 4800's can be 4400s or 4600s...
So if I make a mistake, then provide correct advice you happily ignore, what's your point... :?:

Oh forget it. Suffice it to say that you sometimes have a rather condescending attitude to the other people on the forum.
Starting a post "correcting" someone, then going on to affirm what they have already said really doesn't sit well with me, that's all.
