discontinutiy in lan connection

my box is pentium 3 .450 mhz ...working on win98 ....
from few days i connected it to my college lan network..
here the problem ..is .ia m unable to access others file more than 1minute...suppose when i open ..a media file directly it never works more than 1 minute..and hangs suddenly ..
the same problem persists along with internet only..
any body pllz find a possible solution to this problem

Replace you obsolete OS with something from this millenium. Might be worth doing your box too...
