'Tis an experiment really, but it would be good to hear about more games out there, I'm sure people have some little gems they know of :D

I could write a paragraph about Japanese shooter games and why they kick-ass so much and upload to my website a few freeware ones...maybe later.

R-Type, yup, (unless I'm thinking of a completely different game,) just the sorta game I'm talking about.
gotta love the classic, one-little-ship-against-a-massive-armada-with-weapons-more-powerful-than-could-fit-on-that-tiny-ship scenarios

I'll upload them in a minute

I've got about 3 games, each about 4 megabytes, I'm on a dialup connection and I don't have the original installers, so it'll take a while. when I say installers maybe I should say auto-unzippers or something
so, will take a little while, don't go anywhere ;) they are good

Why bother, just get MAME and grab all the relevant ROMS. Get the ROMS from alt.binaries.emulators.misc. That way you actually get teh real game in the first place...

these aren't arcade games, these are PC games.
but thanks for reminding me about mame, I have a good mame rom that is a space shooter. VERY good indeedy.

all games are PC games except for Cybattlr, that's a mame rom.

have fun, I have fun with these games, and that's all that matters to me.

hmm, I put Cybattlr in my mame roms dir and it it failed the rom check. Here's the details mame told me, cybattlr: pr-91028.12 512 bytes cfe90082 NOT FOUND. So it seems there is a file missing from it.:(

I'll see what I can do

( edit: ) not much I can do, just checked wether or not it works for me, and it does no probs at all, maybe it's mame not the rom, just in case something went wrong when I uploaded it I've uploaded it again for you, I hope that fixes the problem, won't be able to sort out any more problems tonight, I'm going to bed after I write this.

Bah, still doesn't work eclipse. I don't think its a problem with mame as I have tried other games and they work fine.
