recently whilst using new FS2002 download aircraft from major website, the aircraft went beserk for a short while. PC locked up, not unusual in FS2002. Subsequent blue screen scan disk revealed that due to damage to FAT scan not possible. Thorough scan revealed that it found errors that could not be rectified and that the hard drive may need replacing. There are no other probs and all is working very well - just cannot complete scan and thus unable to proceed with routine disk defrag.
Is this fixable and how the heck do I find out?
Answers will be gratefully received.
Cheers

Backup ALL your date ASAP. Part of your hard drive is seriously damaged. If there is actual physical damage to the drive platter, there is a very good chance that attempting to read the 'bad' sectors will bugger up your filesystem even more.
Backup. Now.
Then repartition and reformat your drive, then perform a thorough scandisk. If you turn up errors after that, chances are your hard-drive is knackered =/
