I do admit, your compositing skills far surpass mine ;)
I'm just a web graphics guy at the moment, but one day I hope to create digital art as good as this:

will take me many many years I think... but then, I do have many many years! :)

Why does it say "Painting : Kristen [merekat] Perry" at the bottom? You can tell from just looking at it, especially the background, that it's been hand-painted.

You're not thinking of making a career of colouring-in are you? :P If I had a half-decent tablet I could colour that painting. The 'art' has laready been done.

Is what I regard as 'digital art', as it's been created in a digital environment.

that is quite an impressive render, looks as good as a photo, however, I assume kristen calls it painting because she uses a tablet to do it all by "hand" rather than playing with things in digital space. but can this still be considered digital art, just because of the fact it was created on a computer, I know you would say that it isn't, but I don't know.

There are some wonderful digital painting apps about - OpenCanvas comes to mind - that allow all sorts of wonderful materials such as watercolours etc.

For huge numbers of examples of what I call "digital art", created using a tablet and a decent painting app, take a look at http://www.portalgraphics.net.

For jaw-dropping impressiveness, drawn using the same method (tablet + OpenCanvas), check these images:
http://www.portalgraphics.net/data/full ... eopard.jpg
http://www.portalgraphics.net/data/full ... ax_aby.jpg

Now that is digital art.
