yeah, of course you can explode from the inside out. your guts would all explode, and split your skin and flesh apart to get out. Rather grusome, but hey, it is a weapon of death.

I didnt know what temperatures this get's too, I find it difficult to find ANYTHING out about this, cos my college has blocked the website, under category 'weapons'. Why? God knows. I think knowledge is banned at this place.

That's because middleton re-wrote the original websense. I managed to get the source code (php)

if($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] != "intranet")
{
$meta = getMetaTag($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']);
header("Location: http://intranet/websensed.html?category=$meta");
exit;
}

I can't help but think that you exaggerate your claims of IT despotism.

If you have done nothing wrong, but still they confiscate your own personal laptop on a regular basis, then you should be seeing your IT admin in court. If they really are as totally incompetent as you make out, then just lock your PC down so they can't get in. Unless you've signed away your rights (in which case you need a good hard slap), then they can't force you to give them access.

firstly this is the head of IT, he is dumb, he knows nothing about computers, he is a politician.

secondly, if i dont give them access then they make me take my computer home, which i dont exactly want now do I??

the daft twat, just gets the IT services staff to do check out my machine, and they do know what they are doing.

How can someone force you to take you laptop home, I can understand how they can remove you net access if you refuse to sign but not allowing you to have a laptop on schools grounds is crazy.

If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear from letting them take a look at your laptop so why not just go with it…..

They have been known to take pc's that were not connected on the grounds that the person could be writing or downloading something damaging and then putting it on the school network, through disk or cd.
If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear from letting them take a look at your laptop so why not just go with it…..
1. Everyone has something to hide - I believe
2. It would be more that slightly irritating to have your pc disappear away on the back or a dodgey bouncy milk float every couple of terms for an unknown number of "reasons" and weeks

I have never had PC taken, too much of a good boy,

But you should se the colour Uatec goes when any IT staff come near our school house.
I can't help but think that you exaggerate your claims of IT despotism.
Not much they are paranoid and seem to have too much free time.

surely the easiest way to punish uatec is to just remove your patch cable from the comms cabinet.. unless of course the IT services guys are mortilly afraid of dust.

TBH you two, I still think you're talking bollocks.

Confiscating computer equipment on the grounds that you could be transferring dodgy content via disc? Utter bollocks, you actually challenged them about it then they'd back down. After all, do actually you need a laptop to bring a CD/floppy into school?

If you're not prepared to stand up for your rights, then shut the fuck up whinging about how you are so technologically oppressed. Go and get daddy's solicitor to write them a letter next time they try anything.

What a fascinatingly profound reply, guess all the expensive education is paying off eh?

And I do believe it was you or one of your 'chums' that dragged this topic off-course to begin with.
