The SG18.5 European Jaunt

Post by mid_gen »

So, what was at the time, admittedly, drunken crazy talk, did actually still seem like a good idea the next morning :>

Prague is meant to be good, but it's becoming increasingly popular and thus, expensive. I'm poking around at some other places. Bratislava is supposed to be very nice and *insanely* cheap, like £30 for 3 nights board and food

I'll post some quick prices on here, if you're interested, let us know :)

We were thinking of the 29th July (Friday) to 1st August (Sunday).

Canalboat holidays rock :E Although in hindsight driving the boat through an open plain in a crashing thunderstorm, soaking wet, while holding an umbrella wasn't a great idea. But then neither was letting Flid drive :?

What sorta dosh are people willing to pay? Gonna be between £150 and £200 from what I've seen, tis in the holeeeday season.

As long as I can use Air Miles to part pay for it I don't really mind where we go.

My preference would be to go to Prague as it's a really nice city and the beer is still pretty cheap. My parents went to Budapest but said it was a complete dive. Other options could be Amsterdam or Dublin.

I should probably warn you that the amount of drinking that will go on on this trip is likely to be... large. In fact, I suspect that is all that will happen.
Computers will not be involved, in fact the only probable resemblance this will show to a Shotgun LAN event is that Pete will still be loud ;-)

Still sounds like a plan :)
If you build a man a fire he'll be warm for a day, but if you set a man on fire he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

The only computer involved would be a calculator to work out how much Absinth I can drink before I die

So...I've been on hols for the past two weeks....and I kinda need a job...Perhaps postpone the jaunt until it's outside of uber-mega-ultra-super-ripoff times?, after SG19 perhaps?
