Freedom fighters or terrorists

Post by Seahorse »

biggles wrote:sept 11 has completely changed the meaning of terrorist,

terrorist's are people that use terror for personal gain.

and i would say that terrorism has FUCKING NOTHING to do with nationality or religion.

also i see whoever crashed the plane into the twin towers as mislead freedom fighters, not terrorists.
Speaking of mislead, what kind of 'Freedom' were they seeking? Perhaps you would care to illuminate us with your insights on this subject Biggles....

I would classify terrorists as any military group that intentionally targets civilians...

they were terrorist, however u can spell that when u r half drunk.
i do not care what they are trying to say/prove, they killed 50,000 people who they had never met, and maybe have liked if they had met.
Eat well, stay fit, die anyway!! (you laugh at me cos i'm diferent, i laugh at you cos your all the same!)

By my defintion, terrorist are a military group, and hence not civilians. So governments that fight terrorists are not terrorists.

If ya get me. And there's a difference betwen arguing over acceptable civilian casualties and flying a passenger jet into a civilian building.

This FBI report puts that figure at 3047, including the casualties at all three sites. Don't get me wrong, it was a horrific act, but the yanks seem to be killing themselves just fine without the need for terrorists:
Firearms accounted for 8,719 slayings, or about two-thirds, followed by knives, "personal" weapons such as fists and feet, blunt objects and such methods as drugs, strangulation and drowning. There were 10 murders-by-poison in the United States last year, according to the FBI.

Whatever the figure it was too many people and the achieved the square root of fuck all.
I do not believe that osma was a deeply religious guy I think he had some serious issues and would have had no support had he not claimed to do it in the name of god.
So the rabid dogs option it is!!

Achieved nothing? I think a glance at *any* news source tells a different story. Whether it benefitted his cause or not, is another matter, but he certainly achieved something. The guys who flew into the buildings were religious, and most likely Osama thinks he is doing the will of god...

I apologise for my poorly worded post I meant that he achieved FA for his cause besides bad publicity and a serious taliban-housing crisis. It is a shame we haven't caught the man of the hour, or do you all think that he should be punished then. Death sentence or not.
