This is a lot more customisable than the BBC ticker, but is there any way to pick up the BBC ticker feed using it?

The Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Ultra is a canterwood board with ultra 320 SCSI built in, but not PCI-X. Of course, that would mean buying a new CPU to make use of the memory bandwidth you get at 800+ FSB. You might also want to check the kind of noise levels a 15k rpm scsi drive makes, they might be fine for...

And btw, I have absolutely no idea why there are about 5 blank carriage returns in my sig, on the profile page it stops after the {/url} tag.

It's bizarre, any idea how to fix it?

Correct, but I cant run all my os / games / apps etc off 36GB (more like 32gb after formatting) these days, therefore its either 1x120gb 7200 drive for £120(ish), or 2x 36Gb for £240. So i'll be paying £120 extra for a 40-50% performance increase over the single 120Gb drive but take a huge hit in ca...

With 2 Raptors in RAID 0 its more like 40-50% over even the best performing single 7200RPM drives currently available (WD caviar special edition) for desktop performance.

If i'm going to build "The Beast" (TM) I might as well go the whole nine yards.

Colour Laser Printer for <£500

Just got an Insight catalogue through the door, and its got a Minolta-QMS Colour Laser on the front, for £399+VAT.

The review on pcpro seems very positive (5/6).

Any idea what it'd be like for photos?

But 2x 10,000 RPM Raptor drives in RAID 0 would rock, and they come with 5 year warrantys. All the important stuff (my docs, files etc) will be kept on a seperate 120gb WD caviar drive, the RAID would be for OS / Installs only, so if it fails then I havent lost anything that cant be replaced fairly ...

It had to happen sooner or later... my 30gb IBM Deskstar 75GXP has finally called it quits and decided it wants no further part in my filestoring plans. I have to admit, at around 3 years of 24/7 operation it's lasted a lot longer than the majority of this model drive does (Chris had 2 die within th...

All the hardware sites are hugely pro-ati atm, so they must be doing something right, from reading a few forums it doesnt seem like anyones having problems anymore. The mobile chips might be a different story than the high end cards though. Nvidia havent always had rock solid drivers, i remember whe...

Zik's correct, the 4800 is the AGP8x version of the 4200, the performance increase is probably less than 5%. 4600 is about 15% better than the 4200 if you can still find one. the FX5800 was the first FX card to be released, but even Nvidia have admitted that they fucked it up (cooling problems, crap...

Gave it a bash but to me it looks like an ugly Halo / Tribes rip off with some very basic squad tactics bolted on. The engine seems competent but nothing special, and the voice acting is truely cringeworthy. Possible MP value but with Halo out on PC this year I really cant see a place for it.

I agree with ya about paying for a beta... which is why I haven't bothered signing up. There are plenty of great games out there that are worth playing, you just dont give em long enough to see the good stuff.

Get up that $%&#@! pitch ya b4$t4rds!!

I know football aint exactly a hot topic around here but this one is too good to miss. Apparently Man U are in talks to sign a goalkeeper with tourettes syndrome from a major league soccer team...

Class.

Ah, if only they mic'd up the ref like they do in Rugby.
