So yeah, we've just announced our first LAN of 2008... I though i'd just post up here as I know a few people who hand around here and shown interest in our event before.

Its running from 29th Feb - 2nd March in Padworth near Reading... �20 for weekend entry and there are 28 places in total.

yes, it's short notice, but Here are the details of our next event: -

Date: Saturday 24th November
Times: 11:30AM - 11:30PM
Venue: Badger Farm Community Centre, Winchester
Capacity: 25 Participants

Cost: �7 (payable beforehand)
Spectators: Free

Features: Licensed Bar, Sainsbury's next door, ample parking, 2Meg internet connection.

Games: Halo 2 (yes, we got it working on Windows XP), BF2142, Urban Terror, CounterStrike Source (pending internet connection of course),Dawn of War OR C&C3 (depending on numbers)

Good day purveyors of fine LANs

Much as it pains me to make my only post in freaking ages on here one pimping the latest BIG GAME I'm doing it anyway because we only managed to give people 2 weeks notice when we announced and haven't done one in ages

Anyone up for trying to organize an other lan at the usual place?

I keep getting invited by friends in Bracknell to attend the Multiplay event which happens at Newbury racecourse and I went to one of them but they are crap!

All lan traffic is automatically monitored and you get banned if you share files
you have to camp outside in the cold
it's �80!
there are too many pro-gamers and you have no chance in hell to win anything (although watching the Q4 final was awsome)

I have access to game servers and switches should we need them and can HELP pay for stuff too if there is a shortfall - note the emphasis on HELP

What do you think? we could try and get this to be a regular event again, as far as I know there is nothing local running in either Reading, Bracknel, Woking or anywhere else.
